Exercise Support System & Personal Training

    

Buchanan YMCA developed our Exercise Support System in order to provide our members with the proper tools to achieve whatever fitness goal is important to them. Whether it’s weight loss, stress reduction, or general health, ESS is designed for the education and encouragement of its participants. We want to take the fear and anxiety that many people experience in the gym setting and replace it with confidence and resolve. With ESS, you are never alone on your fitness journey.

ESS participants meet with our trainer Clay Wong to assess your current workout regime if any, your current ability level and your personal goals.  Clay then develops a new workout for you and meets with you for three sessions to assess your progress and add new exercises to your routine

Certified Health and Fitness Specialist

 

Clay holds an advanced personal trainer certification from the American College Sports Medicine, this combined with a B. S. in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University will ensure that you get the results you want.  He believes in developing safe, effective, and functional exercise programs for people of all fitness levels. Clay's passion is to make physical fitness an integral part of your healthy lifestyle.

As a sports enthusiast, Clay is involved in many recreational activities including strength training, trail running, hiking, and golf Clay brings a positive attitude to strength training that supports people in staying commited towards the successful achievement of their personal fitness goals.

Nikki Marshall, CPT

 

Nikki is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  Nikki’s focus as a trainer is to provide a strong foundation and advance you through a comprehensive workout plan that will lead to greater functional strength and fitness level.  By progressing you through NASM’s Optimum Performance Training system, Nikki will help you maximize your workout efforts and effectively achieve your fitness goals.  Whether you’re an exercise novice or have been working out for years, Nikki can help bring you to the next level.

Nikki has been working for the Buchanan YMCA since October 2006.  She has been teaching a ‘Firm Body Conditioning’ class since March 2007 and an ‘Indoor Cycling’ class since January 2008.  She enjoys hiking, kickboxing, swimming and boot camp workouts in her free time and has found fitness to be instrumental in improving her quality of life.  Nikki uses a supportive and positive approach to help her clients improve their own well-being through physical fitness.

Buchanan ESS offers you an orientation appointment and 3 one-hour personal training sessions to get you started, if you wish to continue your regular appointments with Clay or Nikki, or would like to start a new fitness plan we offer Personal Training sessions with Clay and Nikki.

6 one hour sessions     $270
