America on the Move, reaches out to YMCA members and nonmembers alike to engage them with easy, fitness and diet related goals. Additionally, we offer subsidized monthly memberships to more than 400 Embarcadero YMCA members each month. |

Gang-related crimes peak between the hours of 4:00-7:00 pm. |
| Solution |
The Cannon Barcus Community House and Bessie Carmichael Elementary After-School Programs offer youth a better alternative. “The worst case scenario: If not for the Teen Center, I could be on the streets or in a gang,” Elias, a student at Aptos Middle School, knows he wants more out of life. This articulate, passionate eighth grader began going to the Teen Center two years ago. Before becoming a program participant, he was getting Ds and Fs. Now, his grades are mostly Bs. |
